Can I get more than one phone line?

Can I access the internet and talk on the phone at the same time?

Yes you can!

How do I stop receiving telemarketing calls?

If you would like to register your phone number to stop receiving telemarketing calls you can register online or over the phone. You must have a valid email address in order to sign up online. Visit DONOTCALL.gov to sign up online. To register by phone, please call 1-888-382-1222, from the phone number that you would like to register.

Telephone service isn’t working?

Landline

  1. Reboot the phone by removing the power cable, waiting 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  2. Unplug the phone lines for all phones.
  3. Plug in one phone at a time and test. This will determine if the issue is related to the phone or service.
  4. If the issue has not been resolved contact help desk.

VoIP

  1. Reboot the phone by removing the power and Ethernet cable, waiting 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  2. If all phones are affected you may want to reboot your network switch by removing the power cable, waiting 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  3. If the issue has not been resolved contact help desk.

Can I block numbers?

Contact customer service and ask for Selective Call Block. This feature has an additional cost of $3/month.

Will I be without service during my switch to Burlington Telecom?

There will be a temporarily interruption when switching services.

Do I need to buy a new phone or use an adapter on my phone?

No, but if you want to verify please contact customer service.

Does 911 work?

Yes! 911 is included with every phone plan. However, just as any other phone will not work without power, service outages can prevent 911 emergency dialing.

What features are included with the phone service?

If I switch to BT will I still be included in the phone book?

Yes, for business only.

Can I keep my same telephone number if I switch to Burlington Telecom?

This is called Local Number Portability and you may see this as a fee listed as LNP charge.

How do I cancel, change, or disconnect my service?

What is the installation process like?

An appointment time that is convenient for you will be arranged. Someone 18 or older must be at your home during the installation. The installer will greet you and review the procedure and connection of the service that you have ordered. Each service will be tested to confirm it’s working. You will then need to sign a form indicating that your service was successfully installed.

How can I check for service outages in my area?

Major outages/ delays will be reported at the top of the BT website and on Facebook/Twitter. You can also contact customer service.
