RANSOMWARE SCAM ALERT
Recently several BT customers received the ransomware email below. Cyber scams such as this are a real crime. The FBI does not support paying a ransom to the adversary. Paying a ransom does not guarantee the victim will regain access to their data; in fact, some individuals or organizations are never provided with decryption keys after paying a ransom. Burlington Telecom recommends changing your email password. To create a strong password, make it 8-12 characters long, using numbers and special characters. You can do this here. Also consider using whatever anti-virus software you have installed on your computers to run a malware scan and/or bring your device to a computer repair business to have it checked.
