Burlington Telecom and ReSOURCE are making technology more accessible, just in time for back-to-school.
Burlington, VT Burlington Telecom and ReSOURCE are teaming up to bring low-cost internet and technology to qualifying Burlington residents.
The Edu-Net program from Burlington Telecom, now in its 5th year, offers high-speed, low cost internet to low income families. Students that qualify for the National School Lunch Program are eligible to apply for 25 Mb home internet service for $9.95/month. ReSOURCE has been serving the Burlington Community for 25 years with their job skills training, poverty relief, and environmental programs. To minimize E-Waste in landfills, donated computers are fixed, cleaned, upgraded and sold in their Household Goods Stores in Burlington, Barre and Hyde Park.
This partnership will allow eligible Burlington Telecom customers to purchase a computer from ReSOURCE for a deeply discounted price of only $50. All ReSOURCE computers come loaded with Windows 7, the Microsoft Office Suite, a 64-bit processor, an antivirus and full internet capabilities. Edu-Net customers will also receive a coupon for one free computer diagnostic session, to cover any problems the computer may encounter after the initial warranty expires. These machines are ideal for learning students, educators, and anyone in need of an affordable technology solution.
Stacey Trudo, Residential Sales Manager at Burlington Telecom said, “A reliable internet connection is an essential tool that Burlington students need to achieve. Our Edu-Net program is an investment not only in the future of our students, but also in our local and global economy. We’re pleased to be partnering with ReSOURCE to provide these vital educational tools at an affordable price.”
Noah Fishman, Operations Director at ReSOURCE said, “This program really embodies our mission to create less waste and more opportunity. We take something bound for the landfill and turn it into an affordable asset for community members who need an affordable computer and, along the way, our staff and trainees learn important and marketable job skills.”
